Roles
  • Jenny Steinberg - co-maid of honor, - 30s - plus-sized, "zaftig" sister of the bride. Belt/pop rock/jazz/gospel -- this girl must sing it all. Constantly put down by her mother. Trying to find her self-confidence and some sort of love life.
  • Judy Steinberg- 60s - alto/belt - overbearing, critical, sarcastic Jewish mother of the bride. Trying to make the wedding a success; not happy with the prospective in-laws. Good comedic timing.
  • Murray Steinberg - 60s - bari/ten - father of the bride. Peacemaker in the family; a bit hen-pecked, and really loves his wife even if she's difficult.
  • Rebecca Steinberg - 25-30- belt, high mix soprano - Nervous about her special day. Reliant on her sister to keep Mom out of her hair.
  • Georgette Howard - 60s - alto - mother of the groom - heavy drinker - does not approve of this marriage or the bride's family. Wants to keep her only son to herself.
  • George Howard - 60s - baritone - father of the groom - he gets ice for his wife. Has a soft shoe number with his son.
  • Brian Howard - 30s - tenor - Tries to calm Rebecca and placate her doubts. Soft shoe number with Dad.
  • Marty - 30s - tenor - Rebecca's nerdy ex-boyfriend who crashes the wedding. Sweet, funny, intent on stopping the wedding.
  • Albert - 45-60s - bari/ten - wedding planner - Flamboyant, fussy; always has the situation under control. He's seen it all! Good timing a must! Has a show stopping number.
  • Greg - 30s - best man - pop/rock tenor - a bit dense, but lovable. Has big number with Annie.
  • Annie - co-maid of honor - 30s - African American - belt/pop rock high mix soprano a la Jennifer Holliday. Has spectacular number with Greg.
  • Aunt Sheila/Mimsy - 45-60s - alto mix belt - double role; challenging, funny
  • Uncle Morty/Walt - 45-60s - baritone - double role; challenging, funny


Dates of Production - May 2 - May 31, 2020; Rehearsals begin end of February/beginning of March

  • Everyone must be able to move well.
  • All roles have a moment to shine. Have fun with your audition--this is a comedy!
  • Please sing 32 bars or 1 minute of a contemporary musical theater song. (from the show is ok) At callbacks you will be asked to sing from the show.
