Donation to Benefit Animal Shelter

On behalf of the Bergen County Players in Oradell, President Margie Druss Fodor, and BCP Charity Chair Sheldon Stone
presented an $1,800 check to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge.

RBARI, of Oakland, is a leading no-kill animal shelter that has served the community for 36 years. Since 1995, the BCP membership has chosen a different charity each year to which the organization donates a portion of its net proceeds.

"It's our way of saying thank you to a community that has supported us all these years," Druss-Fodor, of Westwood, said. BCP celebrates its 82nd season this year.

Barkocy said RBARI "felt so honored" by the donation, which will help with veterinary care and other animal needs at the shelter.

Past donations have gone to  the Audrey Hepburn Children's House, a division of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital, at Hackensack University Medical Center, and Shelter Our Sisters, to name a few. Next year, the theater group plans to donate to the Congenital Heart Defect Coalition. The Bergen County Players also donates tickets to numerous educational and other organizations throughout the year for various fundraisers and events.
